have you ever used the spam can?  cut the can all the way around about an inch from the top (where you peel the lid from), bend the cut area in so you don’t get cut and you’re good to go.  you just need to put it on a cutting board and stuff your rice in.  however; i think if i made musubi more often i might get a press too.

I tried the spam can method, though it’s a pain in the ass cutting the new spam cans these days.

Much much easier once I got one of those molds.

What’s the deal with Naked Juices using plastic that’s Pete 7, which can either leech chemicals and/or isn’t very recycable?  Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of using 100% juice if it comes with traces of say BPA?

^^^yeah i read about using the spam can, but after seeing my friend’s musubi press, it made me want one.

^^I agree. There’s a couple of Asian supermarkets not far from my place that I’ll have to check out. *cross fingers*

I’m such a sucker when I’m hungry.  I paid $11 for ramen, the prepackaged korean type.

At least I’m not grumpy from hunger.

Coconut rum doesn’t make you sick?

The syrupy sweetness of it sometimes make me feel all “Gah blech.”

Anyone into pink berry? I think its locally (so cal) hyped. Have to say I like that they offer mochi as a frozen yogurt topping.

The other random food combo is Fried chicken with Foo Yee (fermented bean paste) or wasabi

I was craving a grilled cheese sandwich at 11:30 a.m. today.  I tasted very good, very good indeed.

Jayroam, buy yourself a silicone musubi press. It’s totally worth it. You can order from: http://www.takahashimarket.com

^ That’s the old Japanese market in San Mateo, isn’t it?  I remember going there as a kid because it was the only Asian store around here back then.  I don’t think I have been there in 20 years!
