last thursday’s episode - who was the orderly wheeling Locke around?  I know I’ve seen him before but can’t think of where.

That’s the same guy that visited Hurley a few episodes ago at the mental institution, right before Jack came to visit.

And also the guy you saw organizing Widmore’s mission to the island with Naomi.  They were reviewing the profiles of Daniel Farraday, Charlotte, Frank Lapidus, and Miles.

so claire is dead? is john locke doing the dalai lama thing? and the guy that visited young locke is the same guy that was on the island at the same time as the survivors?

^ the problem with him is that he’s ageless.

He was one of the Others as Ben’s advisor, and he was used to recruit Locke, Juliet, etc. for the Dharma Initiative. He was also there when Locke was born, etc.

“Move the island.” word.

Yeah, Richard Alpert seems to be the ageless wonder on the show.

Claire indeed may be dead.  She did have some scars on her face when Locke saw her.  Daaaahhhhh, I can’t wait for future eps.

i think the island is a time portal of some kind and Richard Alpert is probably jacob...or very close to him.  witmoore found out about the islands powers and have been fighting to find it and take control of it.  after a few close calls, jacob sends richard through time to look for recruits to bring to the island that are extrodinary in different ways to be the islands protectors.

each of the characters recruited has or will play a major role in saving or perserving the islands safety.

I like the time traveling theory, though.  It fits better than the whole “Purgatory” idea.

^ producers have already confirmed that it is NOT a purgatory/some sort of after-death scenario.
