^ the review for Army of Two is mixed..
two things I’ve gotten out of them: it’s short, and you NEED to play it with another human (which is cool).
You have to play with a person; it’s too hard to code an intelligent A.I. that’s going to be as smart as a real person at this point.
The enemy A.I. is as good/better than the one in Uncharted; they do a good job of hiding behind boxes, as well as trying to outflank the player. Of course, there were a couple of really dumb ones that ran out into the open to be cannon fodder. Thankfully, the enemy A.I. doesn’t have pinpoint laser accuracy when throwing grenades. A cool bit of functionality is that there’s a beeping sound that indicates how close you’re getting to grenades, aside from the visual grenade indicator. This works better than COD4 where half the time, I’m accidentally running towards grenades.
Haven’t tried the online co-op, but thus far the co-op campaign has been alot of fun.
The people who are hardcore gamers are going to complain that this title is too short. But this is a “problem” with nearly all next-gen games except for Oblivion. Development costs must be outrageous. I do miss those days of stuff like the original Silent Hill and the 10 hr minimum game.
That said, we and J wasted alot of time shopping for guns, at least a half hr every time we wanted to upgrade the hardware. That’s definitely a draw since the artwork is done beautifully and realistically. The interface is a bit sluggish, but bearable (in between switching shopping for primary and secondary weapons for example, there’s a short 10-15 second load time).
