from thebiglead, a blog i read…

You are presented with an opportunity. You get the talent to be the elite player in the sport of your choice. You receive all the associated fame, fortune and accolades. There’s one catch. You know in advance you’re not going to win a title. You may get to Game 7 every year, but you know you’re going to strikeout or miss the game winning shot every time. Your very presence curses whatever team you play for. You need never work again, but you knowingly lead your devoted fans and teammates down a river of pain. Do you do it?

i think i do it and move to another country after i retire.  of course, knowing would kill the dream.

so it’d be like the bills who went to 4 super bowls (was it 4?) and never won, or the portland trailblazers in the 1990s.

i’d do it.  probably in golf or baseball, which ever sport pays higher.  i mean, when you look at all the greats that never won a title, you’d be in good company.  and odds are that if you’re that great but never have won the big one, you’d end up in the hall of fame anyway.

Dsn Marino called, he said that he’s satisfied with how his career went and to STFU.

^ you think he’d trade it all for one ring?  i don’t think it was entirely his fault his teams never won the big one.

it makes you wonder, swap montana and marino and marino may have won a ring or two with the 49ers, not sure if montana would win rings with the dolphins.

I’d do it. It’s not like you are losing due to lack of effort, but curse. All you can ask is that you try your best.
