It smells like somoene shoved an egg full of garlic and let it rot in a pig rectum.
The texture is custardy and it does taste sweet. It just smells of rotten garlic pig’s ass egg.

my gf’s theory: asian born asians like it, american born asians don’t. she does, i don’t. to me, the consistency is similar to that of defrosting chicken.

the post about it smelling like ass kinda ruined my interest in this fruit. but i’m still interested in a fruit that smells like ass that could be enjoyed by people.

the durian sends people to great extremes of love and hate.
the one time i was a fan of durian was when i was watching edison chen’s chiseen videos (chinese jackass) and they were hitting each other with one.

I tried durian for the first time last night on top of shaved ice. I didn’t know what flavor the shaved ice would be, but it wasn’t very good. I could get over the smell of durian, but not the texture. I expected it to be firm like uni, but it was soft like a pureed mango. I was expecting durian to be sweet, but it really wasn’t very flavorful at all. Let’s just say I’m disappointed.

Oh yeah, that’s at 100% Healthy Dessert in Millbrae. They have lots of HK desserts with jelly and things called tadpoles (that are also in Indonesian drinks).
