Other than meals, trips, giftds and events, I’ve never paid for sex. BUt that’s what it pretty much is. If it was like nature, I would puff out my chest, adorn myself with colorful plumage, flap my arms and squawk loudly and I woud get a mate.

You know like it or not, we are all paying for it once we get into that mode. That goes for both the dude and the gal. Doesn’t have to be about moolah.
i’m not against having a regulated industry if women actually want to do that. i think the risks of disease and such are pretty high though.
A while ago I think I read something about the economics of paying for a prostitute vs the costs of maintaining a wife, although I don’t remember which one was better off. Maybe it was in that Freakonomics book.

Hmmmm from what I remember a while ago before IIstix went on a remake, there was some story on this site about a few folks in the Seattle area who went on some little class trip trip among buddies to some massage parlour.
