I prefer touchpads to mice (mouses?) and set it to tapping instead of button clicks.  It prevents carpal tunnel syndrome.

once upon a time, the holy grail for LCDs was having as little bezel as possible.

now apple’s stuck in those big fat black frames.  seriously man, it’s fricking ugly.  make a bigger screen.

My old as shit titanium 400mhz G4 PowerBook had the thinnest bevel ever. At times, when you used the laptop in the dark, it felt as if the screen was just floating.  I LOVED that.

i think that’s the fountain at city hall park downtown nyc.

Time Capsule = wireless network hard drive and automated backups / router.

it also makes a great wireless router for a print station kiosk.

Do Macs only work with Apple displays?  Seems on the Web site they say most other peripherals are interchangeable but they don’t mention monitors, so I guess they’re not?

Otherwise I could get a Mac Mini and that would be most economical for me.  Iit seems like the display is the most expensive part.

no, they’ll work with just about anything modern.  they’ll have dvi connectors but you can connect a vga monitor with a dvi/vga converter.

the only problem with the mac mini is that it hasn’t been updated in a quite a while and who knows if apple is going to update the line or discontinue it…

They will probably update the line right after I buy one.

Ok, so I know I have a MS in CS but I know nothing about actual computers.  When would a person need 2 GB of memory over 1 GB?  Is 1 GB good enough?

And processor speed… I wonder if either 1.86 or 2 GHz would last 5 years.  I tend to use my computers for 5 years.  Heck, I am now trying to surf the Web with my laptop from 1999 with Windows 98 on it, which is making this online shopping kind of difficult because it takes 2 minutes to load a page.

Hm… so if I buy it off Amazon then I don’t have to pay sales tax, or am I supposed to pay it when I do my taxes but Amazon doesn’t collect it?
