i’m not sure if these are possible, but these are things i got used to on invision and it’d be nice if they could be incorporated here too:

a drop down window in each page to quickly change topics/polls.

also, putting these links at the bottom of each page, like they are at the top.

lastly (for now, i like to complain), is there a button that allows you to go to the first unread (by you) post in a thread when you click in?  right now, we re-read all posts on the same page before the new post.

FYI the fast reply is acting strange...I’m using Firefox 2.0.0.12.

It just skips straight to Post Reply.

how ‘bout a forum reserved for the articles? i know you had one in the past and they weren’t as active.  but it’d be nice to be able to post our thoughts about the articles

There’s a comment feature for the articles. You can comment on any articles that are posted on the site.

I don’t wanna come off as snobby, but some of the user-submitted articles just aren’t very good reads.  They either don’t have any real voice/style or they don’t say anything new and thought-provoking.

I understand this is a community-oriented site, though, and it would be kinda ridiculous to be more selective in choosing which articles get published.  Oh well, guess I can just choose not to read certain ones.

I kind of agree.  Though I am waiting to see what sort of articles get published over time and maybe it will get more interesting.  Honestly, the current articles and links haven’t grabbed my attention enough to read them through.  But I remember from the old IIStix site, there were articles that I thought were interesting and unique voices.

Selectivity isn’t such a bad thing.  Think about the media that the most people read and find most valuable.  Seems correlated.
