Pineapple Express:

In general consensus with the iistixers, random for sure. There was a lot of delayed “PWAH!” and chuckles vs. full-out-laughing.

I thought James Franco did a great job in playing the chill drug dealer. hahaha.

“Bfff?”

“Best fcking friends forever, hell yea.”

i saw it last night too.  it had some funny moments and was largely ridiculous.  worth seeing but probably not owning.  probably would have been better if i was stoned.

and rosie perez sure has aged, and not too gracefully.

checked out fast food nation last night on dvd, a movie loosely based on the great book by eric schlosser.  the film’s story was done by schlosser and richard linklater (dazed and confused, slacker) and they created a fictional story that would tell about what schlosser wrote about in his non-fiction book.  it’s sad and at times disgusting seeing what happens in the meat industry.  really makes you want to avoid going to all the big fast food chains.  there were also lots of surprise appearances by big names; bruce willis, greg kinnear, wilmer valderamma and avril lavigne.

it’s at 79% on rottentomatoes right now, so it’s doing good:

With biting satire, plenty of subversive humor, and an unforgettable turn by Robert Downey, Jr., Tropic Thunder is a triumphant late Summer comedy.

The first time i saw Tropic Thunder, it was called The Three Amigos.

I liked that one too. Both are funny.

revisited a great wwii/spy movie, where eagles dare.  clint is his typical badass self and some allied agents embarrass some nazi soldiers.  good stuff.

i caught tropic thunder over the weekend.  It was pretty good, very funny movie.  I loved the cameos.  Robert downey jr is funny and so is jack black.  It’s a little gory at times though.

Lord of War has Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah.  How awesome is that?

Did anyone bother to see the X-files movie. I forgot it came (and went). I followed the TV show (not religiously) and was mildly interested in the idea of a new movie, but couldn’t afford to fork over the time on something with no buzz. Would be interested in hearing thoughts if anyone saw it.

It’s like a glorified t.v. episode.  good stuff.  See if you can catch a matinee if it’s still playing.

I miss the old days prior to the first X-files movie, before the series went downhill.

funny...I was just thinking of that movie this past weekend.  I have to find it...I’ve not yet seen it in its entirety.

I hear it’s much better than “guns of navarone”, which to me felt like snoozer.
