finally checked out helvetica which ki mentioned awhile back.  it gave a history of the font which i found interesting.  the reaction against it in the 70’s and 80’s was also interesting.  the fonts that helvetica replaced were actually more interesting in my opinion, but there is a place for it all.  all helvetica would be bad in my opinion.

I’m glad i’m not the only one who enjoyed a movie about a font…

A couple of days ago i watched a film called Banlieue 13. It’s written by Luc Besson and features lots of free running.

yesterday I watched hulk on those bootleg sites—the movie was recorded with hand held cam. dumbest f-ing move! a good movie wasted on bad quality!

man, i just never get tired of
my wife is a gangster. the
husband is so freaking hilarious
and the lead actress is
pretty solid herself.

i can’t believe they made a
second and third movie of
the series. i’m guessing they
suck (shu qi in the 3rd? ixnay!)

The second one is good.

The ending suggets that the 3rd one would be better, but then you got that crap with Shu Qi.

well, it’s all about the coochie, too, but then you have her mouth to compensate.

but seriously watch it and tell me if you like it.

i watched lars and the real girl last night after the game and i give it two thumbs up.  there wasn’t any sex with the real doll which some might have expected, but instead was about a lonely (and not right in the head) guy who orders a real doll and how the small town he lives in embraces her.  she gets a job, is part of the school board, gets sick, goes to church and dies.  and the whole town plays along.

i thought it was a very finely tuned and well executed movie. an amateur staff and cast could never have pulled it off. somthing i think that eminates from experience. a very delicate movie actually with a thousand and one chances to go wrong.
