Since the Olympics is going to be broadcast in HD, and on the internet, you can watch every single sport there.

Anything people are going to watch?

Or just the opening ceremonies?

I’m gonna watch taekwondo.

Archery, volleyball, boxing, table tennis, and badminton. That’s all I can think of for now.

4x400 track relays are awesome.  i’d also like to catch some of the soccer because some rising stars could be on the field.

NBC is supposedly going to broadcast a crazy amount of coverage this year, via broadcast, cable and internet.

I saw a commercial for the olympics and it has bikes as in bmx type stuff in the background, is that an event this year?

While the opening ceremonies are on 8/8, does anyone know what the early events are? I suppose they are qualifiers for some of the events, but I heard they are starting on 8/6. Hope they show those

Also looking forward to seeing some of the lesser know sports (badminton, handball, sailing).

Heard that China is supposed to challenge for women’s beach volleyball. Curious to see how the Walsh/May Traynor duo will stack up

Figuring out how they would stack up on each other?

Wow.

A whole stadium of Chinese people just gave the Japanese Olympic delegation the cold shoulder.

I was hoping that the Red Chinese would not politicize the Olympics, which is precisely what they were telling everyone else not to do.  Did they cheer for the evil North Koreans by any chance?

As for the events themselves, I hope and pray that there by no controversies involving Koreans, as I’d hate to see the riots that would follow.  No offense to my Korean brethren, but you gotta admit that you guys get a little crazy when things don’t go your way, if past Olympics are any indication.

Sorry, I probably offended a good 60% of people here.

I wonder how much money the spent on fireworks.

I can’t see that being pulled off in Chicago.

But I think the budget for the opening ceremonies was $300 million.

It wasn’t the government, it was the people.

Can someone explain to me the red forehead markings on the drummers?

The Home Depot commercial is airing.

I remember thinking that was a crock, until I went to the Home Depot in Colorado Springs near the OTC.  Holy crap, it’s weird to see a gold medlaist hauling landscaping supplies for ou.
