Old but I just came across this article about the Vietnamese nursing student from San Mateo who was murdered apparently because of the murderer’s multi-year delusion that she was in a relationship with the murderer’s baby daddy.  Stay away from crazy people to the second degree.

The photo doesn’t help her case.  The lady has crazy eyes.

Apparently the typical profile of victim of smartphone robbery (often violent) in SF is an Asian female of any age, using it on Muni or walking.

I would say anybody walking distracted and typing away on an expensive smartphone would be a typical robbery target regardless of ethnicity, gender, or age.

Will it now be easier for illegal immigrants’ children to obtain work permits than legal immigrants’ children to get H1-B sponsorship and avoid deportation if they are out of work?  Also wonder if there will be fewer restrictions on the type of work for these work permits than H1-B.

If the Dream Act is passed, it seems like the easiest way to get permanent residency or citizenship is to send your kid here for high school then college.  That would fulfill the 5 year residency and education requirements.
