What?  Myanmar is gonna be upset if the US drops food and basic first aid kits without permission to flyover?

Listen Myanmar, and your piss poor Air Force.  If we can drop bombs on innocent people without cause, how are you going to stop us from dropping food and first aid to those who need it?

Right, we have George W.  Touche Myanmar.

Also, Myanmar just wants aid organization to just drop off food at the border instead of letting aid workers in.  Hmm...unless you have an intricate system of logistics set up with warehouse, forklifts and helicopters to transport the stuff, I suppose you could.  Otherwise, it would just do nothing on your border.  I’m sure the US Navy, in concert with the Royal Thai Armed Forces have dozens of helicopters based in Thailand to help you guys out, but you’re just going to be dinguses huh?

Myanmar is seizing UN food donations and say their meager helicopter force can get the items to those in need.

OK, where exactly are your choppers going to land in the flooded, muddy Irrawaddy delta you fucktards?

And in Lebanon news.

How can Syria deny invovlement when there are photos of Shi’ite gunmen posing in front of banners with the Syrian president’s face on them?  And how did all these militas just spring up?  Syria has some really serious internal security issues.  Also, I bet Israel is getting antsy, all hell is going to break loose if they get invovled.

It is a coup, I agree.  Shi’ite militants want to take over the government, its not just regular Hizbollah wackiness now.

The whole world can see the satellite images:

The part in this image is almost the distance between SF and LA.

Ok, anyway, anyone know what are the best aid organizations to donate money to for this?

Merci.  Yeah, I seemed to gather from the news reports that Unicef and World Food Programme have been able to get in.  I can’t do anything to help except donate money, but I guess that’s better than not.

Burma’s always been one of the places I wanted to go do a story.  Probably too late now.
There are days I regret having not quit yet.

Holy crap.  These photos are awesome.
I always thought a volcano errupting and lightning and thunder all at the same time were some kinda movie device indicating the end of the world (or Mt. Doom).

Never thought it was real.  I probably would have gotten shivers if I saw this live:

Never occured to me that besides news.google.com, the wiki page would be a good place to find ongoing updates.

cyclone, earthquake, tornadoes, and volcanic eruptions. check.

yeah, i do wonder what’s next… mother nature’s pissed off enough to start fighting back.

Father trains 12 year old to be dominatrix.

OK, not that I should have to say it.

But if you are doing that, you fail as a father.
