^ What’s wrong with all these drivers, as of late?

My car got backed into last month, the whole rear bumper’s all effed up.  But i decided to pocket the cash instead of repairing such an old car.
And then a few weeks prior to that, I had a hit and run where somebody changed lanes into my car on 280 (luckily just cosmetic damage, the car’s not compromised structurally).

so freaking tired.  I’ve been up since 9 AM, did a 6 pm - 2 am shift in the ER, now I’m trying to stay up another hour (it’s 4:30 here right now) because I’m doing two overnight shifts in a row starting tomorrow. I am so not cut out for shift work.

Just had a meeting with JAG to charge a Specialist in the US Army with fraud.  Federal counts since he used the US Mail and conducted fradulent activites from a US Military facility.

tried to sleep in until 1, but stupid construction next door; sounds like they’re grinding metal and operating chainsaws or something.

I was finally able to get to sleep when i hear 2 thuds on my bedroom window, it was pretty loud. i checked outside to see what it was and 2 birds hit my window and knocked themselves out, i didnt check to see if they were dead or not.

then when i was almost about to get some good sleep again, phone kept on ringing.

This is one of the reasons I’m freaked out by doctors in hospitals.  Does anyone really want to put their health in the hands of someone who’s on an allnighter?

^^ I totally agree with you.  I know I’m definitely not with it at 6 in the morning after having been up since 7 the day before, but it’s a macho culture in that you’re supposed to be able to work those hours, and if you can’t, you’re seen as lazy.

I can see that.  It’s not that different in engineering.  In university, everyone brags about coding all night to finish off some amazing project in the last minute.  Often startups that contain or are lead by young grads often have the “hero” mentality - have the 3 best guys in the world working round the clock on caffeinne and create some awesome product.

It’s fun to build a prototype that way, but doesn’t work well in the long run and when quality is important.

Speaking of sleep, after only getting 3-4 hours of sleep last two days, 2 hour nap this afternoon definitely helps. I feel so re-energized.

I hate the fact that I have coworkers that I interviewed and specifically said NOT to hire.

The fact that they come at me, after almost a year, with very basic questions that they should know, just reflects the fact that we shouldn’t have hired them in the first place.  Seriously guys, you need to do some work on your own instead of me spending my afternoon guiding you through stuff that you should be able to figure out on your own.

I’m not paid to hold your hands.

The hours spent with them was enough to give me a fricking headache, and I rarely get headaches.  I don’t have any muscle relaxants at home, so I opened a bottle of wine, and one glass led to another and now the bottle is empty and I’m reminded that I miss having a woman in my life.

FUCK!!!
