Dogpatch

Gross or net income?  I’m assuming Net.  I think close to 30%.

Nothing these days.  It’s sad, although I’m gonna try to pick up Android development.

I’m a lot more liberal, but everyone says I speak just like my Dad.

5. of the technology you own and now use on a regular basis, what have you had the longest?
I have a monitor, mouse and keyboard from maybe 2002/2003.  I replaced a lot of stuff in 2008.

1. what is the name of the neighborhood/district that you live in?
Top of the world

2. if you took a guess, what percent of your monthly income do you think goes to your rent or mortgage (just percentage, no need to share actual dollar amounts)?
Right now zero, living with parents.
Used to be 1/3 to 1/2 before tax, including all costs not just mortgage, but there are a million ways to calculate this, for example, with or without rental income.

3. what is the nerdiest thing you think you participate in?
Right now nothing.
Used to be dancing with a bunch of PhD nerds.

4. how similar do you think you are to your same parents?
One main difference is openness and ability to learn new information, adapt and change behaviors.  Similarities include emotional stability and handling of finances.  I find that those two things seem to run in families.

5. of the technology you own and now use on a regular basis, what have you had the longest?
Cell phone since 2006.

10% - low cost of living in Winnipeg!

darn, I used to be much nerdier.  internet message boards?

I feel like I’m becoming more and more like my dad, which is interesting but also worries me.

1. what is the name of the neighborhood/district that you live in?
Windermere

2. if you took a guess, what percent of your monthly income do you think goes to your rent or mortgage (just percentage, no need to share actual dollar amounts)?
zero.

3. what is the nerdiest thing you think you participate in?
I’m active in an Asian message board. I’m also active in a transformers message board.  Oh wait.  I’ve beaten all the non-rangers and non-dungeon pokemon games.

4. how similar do you think you are to your same parents?
I think I’m pretty similar to my parents in general.  i think the biggest difference between the two of us is the kind of quality we expect in food and life.  My parents are Chrysler driving, JC-penny buying, Old Country Buffet folk.  I’m kinda uppity.

5. of the technology you own and now use on a regular basis, what have you had the longest?
I’ve had a cellphone since 1999, but I’ve only had this current cellphone for 2 years.
I think the one thing that I’m still surprisingly using still is a clock radio I’ve had since Jr. High.

Well, I wouldn’t say scared, but I didn’t play computer games, and I don’t try things like Second Life, because they might be addicting.  I remember in high school, I would get addicted to SimCity. smile

2. from whatever vantage point you want to take, do you think the world will be better in 50 years?

It could go either way.

3. what is one thing you would like a certain person to do differently?

Just one?

4. what is an issue or historical event you wish more people knew about?

I should know more about issues and historical events myself.

5. what do you expect is something better about being in your 40’s than 30’s or 20’s?

Hm… having your own family and having more money.

2. Yes.

4. Depletion of tuna due to increased sushi consumption.
5. Yelling at teeangers.

1. Heroin.  and maybe using people.
2. I doubt it.  I think the costs of energy will go up, and everything else with it.  I don’t really see a technology that completely fixes the problem yet.  I’m glad we’re investing in that direction though, maybe we’ll figure something out.
3. I wish a few people would quit.  Or that our CEO would do something about it and get rid of them.
4. I wish people would do something about how biased and inaccurate the media is.  Or how much lobbying disrupts decisions in this country.  Or how the AMA acts as a cartel on doctors.  Well, that’s 3.
5. I can probably say whatever crap I want and people would think I know what I’m talking about because I’m old.
