Yeah, Oscar called it quits.  He should have called it quits after the Mayweather fight.

But think about this, Oscar got paid as a fighter.  And think about the money he pulled in as a fighter AND as the promotor.

$$$

I heard on the news last night Manny wants to run for president of the Philippines.  He would probably win in a landslide.  Sigh.  last thing the Philippines needs is another celebrity president.  That worked out so well last time.  =P

I just want to see manny kick the shit out of mayweather like he did with oscar.

and yes, oscar doesn’’t just jump in the ring because he wants another win, he is now a business man.

A lot are saying that Manny will likely fight Hatton before Mayweather, since Mayweather has yet to announce coming back out of retirement, and Manny’s next fight would likely be as soon as April.

There’s also disagreement as to whether Mayweather would risk his undefeated record for a big payday.  I would bet that Mayweather’s love of money will win out.

Pacquiao-Hatton megafight is back on

By Kevin Iole, Yahoo! Sports 47 minutes ago

Pound-for-pound kingpin Manny Pacquiao phoned promoter Bob Arum early Thursday evening in Los Angeles and informed the Top Rank chairman that he had signed his contract to fight Ricky Hatton on May 2 in Las Vegas, reviving a megafight that seemingly had died a day earlier.

Pacquiao, who defeated Oscar De La Hoya on Dec. 6 in one of his most impressive and dominant performances, had been balking at signing to fight Hatton because he was not pleased with the 50-50 split.

Arum had been been frustrated with Pacquiao and hadn’t spoken to him in more than two weeks. Pacquiao also had not been taking calls from his trainer and close friend, Freddie Roach.

But Pacquiao reversed course on Thursday and agreed to the deal. Arum said he had to do something for Pacquiao contract-wise, but said “it is nothing that will hurt me.”

He said Pacquiao told him he faxed the signed contract to Top Rank’s office in Las Vegas and emailed a copy to the company’s attorney. Arum is in Los Angeles co-promoting a Saturday fight at the Staples Center between Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley.

“When we get in and open the office on [Friday] morning, hopefully the contract is on the fax machine and we have a fight,” Arum said.

Wow, I can’t believe how good Manny is.

The commentator said it the best when he threw a hook and then immediately slipped a punch.  He’s like Mike Tyson, but with an actual gameplan and a sound jab.  Dear goodness, made De La Hoya look like a chump and now Hatton look like an Newbie.  WE NEED HIM VERSUS MAYWEATHER!!!!
