^^aren’t they basically saying african americans don’t work? how does somebody watch 7 hours of tv while also working a full time job? watching sports all day on the weekend can’t skew it that much can it?

Over 50 hrs/wk.  Unless they don’t sleep or do anything else.  8 hrs sleep + 8 hrs work + 1 hr commute/lunch + 7 hrs TV = 24 hrs.

We do rule the Internet though.  I could surf the Web 7 hrs/day outside of work before… but, some of that time I was working too....

P.S.  Well, thinking about it… labor force participation rates by race are very close, but unemployment rates leaves 5-10% more of African Americans out of work, but that’s not enough to account for such large differences in TV watching.  But those employment statistics don’t show part-time vs. full-time, but I don’t think they should be too different by race.  But income levels are lower among African Americans, so maybe that accounts for fewer computers and more TV.

National average is 5 hours a day!?  WTF.

We live in a bubble.  I don’t watch any TV at all.  But that’s cuz I watch videos on the Internet.  But still, less than 1 hr/day.  Speaking of which, I wonder if they are counting watching TV/videos on the Internet.

you’re really missing out if you’re not watching the killing on amc. there are so many twists and turns to this story that i really have no idea who the killer is. the only downside is you have to start from the beginning if you really want to get into it. my gf and i tivo it but still make it a point to watch it on sunday night after it airs. outside of sports, that’s probably the quickest we get to something we’ve recorded.
