I liked the idea (It was either the Tygress’ idea or Ce) of a group effort of reaching a total number of books by the end of a year, since most of us are lucky enough to barely finish a magazine once every few months, let alone an entire book.

I am proud to announce that I, today, have accomplished such amazing feat of reading.  The great literary masterpiece by David Morrell - First Blood.

So post here if you’ve finished reading a book.  Our goal is to reach....50 collectively by 3/7/09?  :D Or should we go for something more ambitious?

my next book will be Ulysses by James Joyce. One of the most difficult books to read.

So all of us together should finish reading 50 books by next year?  Totally do-able.

Are we limiting the books we read to a certain kind?

Just finished these ones:

“To Own a Dragon: Reflections On Growing Up Without A Father” by Donald Miller

and

“ADHD: A Complete and Authoritative Guide” by the American Academy of Pediatrics

KFC - 1
SimpleQ - 1
Gar - 2

So that brings us up to… 4.

i’m in.  i haven’t finished reading a book in a long time.  this will get me to start picking up those half-read books that i’ve tossed aside.

i think 50 is too low, especially collectively.  there are some ferocious readers here.  i think 200 is more of a challenge.

No book type limit.  I think that if there’s a goal in place, it might make it easier for us to feel motivated to read.  lol

alright....200 it is.  that’s a shitload of books.  hahaha.  I’ll try to maintain a spreadsheet aside from a running total on this thread.

i’ll participate.  for facebookers, you can use the goodreads books app to keep track and list what you’ve been reading.

That would not work…

Especially if I plan on getting any work-related reading done.
